How reproducible:
always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. dnf install vlc-gui-qt

Actual results:

Problem: problem with installed package pipewire-1.2.7-1.el10.x86_64
  - package vlc-gui-qt-1:3.0.21-16.el10_0.x86_64 from epel requires (vlc-plugin-pipewire(x86-64) if pipewire), but none of the providers can be installed
  - conflicting requests

Expected results:
successful installation

Comment 1 Ben Beasley 2025-02-19 13:28:30 UTC
A side effect of this is that the base "vlc" package cannot be installed at the same time as pipewire, or anything that requires pipewire (such as mutter).

Error:
Problem: package mutter-47.0-7.el10.x86_64 from appstream requires pipewire(x86-64) >= 0.3.33, but none of the providers can be installed
  - package vlc-gui-qt-1:3.0.21-16.el10_0.x86_64 from epel requires (vlc-plugin-pipewire(x86-64) if pipewire), but none of the providers can be installed
  - package vlc-1:3.0.21-16.el10_0.x86_64 from epel requires vlc-gui-qt(x86-64) = 1:3.0.21-16.el10_0, but none of the providers can be installed
  - cannot install the best candidate for the job
  - conflicting requests
