Description of problem: When you run a distro upgrade, you would usually see on boot a message saying "Upgrading system" and to "Not turn off the system" with a progress bar. Now, all you see is the normal boot screen with text quickly passing at the bottom. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): 5.2.10-(fc41/f42?) How reproducible: I assume it should be pretty reproducible
Well, I don't remember changing anything regarding this in DNF5. I rather suspect it is related to <https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Changes/EnableDrmPanic>. I remember a discussion that it will have an effect on plymouth and on systems with not modern enough graphical drivers it won't just work. Could you confirm where do you observe that behavior? What Fedora version? What kernel do you boot?

This is a valid issue, we currently do not set the "system-update" Plymouth mode, so the big "Upgrading System..." message is not shown. See also https://github.com/rpm-software-management/dnf5/issues/1667#issuecomment-2685805776. I believe https://github.com/rpm-software-management/dnf5/pull/2087 would resolve this, at the cost of displaying a bit less information to the user.
