GNOME Shell extensions declare compatibility based on major version. Providing this in the gnome-shell RPM means we can have a 1:1 mapping between the GNOME Shell major versions supported by an extension with the gnome-shell(api) provided by the gnome-shell package, so we can more easily automate generating the Requires: on the extension package and know it will FTI if the gnome-shell API level is unsupported, catching bugs early. Reproducible: Always
