This will be enabled soon for Fedora CoreOS, once we start building branched & next (in progress).

What is the status here? Do we need to invoke the contingency mechanisms before beta?

We are on track to get this into the beta, no need for contingency. Those PR are still open because we will flip that switch when we'll release the testing stream with beta content
