Tracked in the Fedora CoreOS side in https://github.com/coreos/fedora-coreos-tracker/issues/1852

Comment 2 Neal Gompa 2025-02-19 17:27:45 UTC
The kiwi side of this is done now. I've merged https://pagure.io/fedora-kiwi-descriptions/pull-request/105 and cherry-picked relevant changes back to F42.

Setting to MODIFIED. Dusty can update this to ON_QA with the CoreOS status update.

Comment 3 Dusty Mabe 2025-02-19 19:39:29 UTC
The work has been completed in Fedora CoreOS: https://github.com/coreos/fedora-coreos-tracker/issues/1852#issuecomment-2669587230

Any Fedora 42+ based Live Media should be being created with EROFS instead of squashfs.

This change seems to have caused bug 2348669.

The description over in https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2348669#c0 says:

> This problem has been happening for the last 2 months or so

If that is true I highly doubt the cause of the bug is this change as the PRs for this merged only a few weeks back.
