Description Mark Pearson 2025-03-07 20:00:19 UTC
1. Please describe the problem:
Audio (Mic and Speaker) LEDs are not working on Lenovo X1 Carbon G13 (Lunarlake and Arrowlake)
Upstream commit is part of the solution for fixing this:
https://patchwork.kernel.org/project/alsa-devel/patch/20250226084728.1889082-1-shumingf@realtek.com/

Note - alsa-ucm-conf update is also needed: https://github.com/alsa-project/alsa-ucm-conf/pull/512

As commit is accepted upstream looking to backport into Fedora-5.13 in preparation for release for Fedora preload on Lenovo platforms

I will be submitting the MR for this shortly. This BZ is for tracking.

2. What is the Version-Release number of the kernel:
6.13

3. Did it work previously in Fedora? If so, what kernel version did the issue
*first* appear? Old kernels are available for download at
   https://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/packageinfo?packageID=8 :
No

4. Can you reproduce this issue? If so, please provide the steps to reproduce
   the issue below:
Yes. LEDs don't work without updated kernel and alsa-ucm

5. Does this problem occur with the latest Rawhide kernel? To install the
Rawhide kernel, run ``sudo dnf install fedora-repos-rawhide`` followed by
   ``sudo dnf update --enablerepo=rawhide kernel``:
Not tested, but probably as patch not in rawhide kernel yet

6. Are you running any modules that not shipped with directly Fedora's kernel?:
No

7. Please attach the kernel logs. You can get the complete kernel log
   for a boot with ``journalctl --no-hostname -k > dmesg.txt``. If the
issue occurred on a previous boot, use the journalctl ``-b`` flag.
N/A (nothing useful in logs)
