I personally have experienced a core dump of kwin(_wayland) when opening chrome or konsole. Others are reporting the same issue with flatpak as well. Early reports seem to suggest that this only happens on AMD GPUs. A package downgrade to 6.3.2.1-1.fc41 fixes the issue and allows the window manager to continue running. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Update to the packages specified below 2. Log into plasma 3. Open flatpak or native app kwin 6.3.2.1-2.fc41 kwin-wayland 6.3.2.1-2.fc41 kwin-libs 6.3.2.1-2.fc41 kwin-common 6.3.2.1-2.fc41 Actual Results: kwin_wayland or kwin will segfault, with a stack trace pointing to rendering. This will also close some apps, but not all when restarting. Example, I had chrome and konsole open, after about 30 seconds or so kwin crashed and restarted. Konsole was still open, but chrome was not. Expected Results: should not crash The URL referencing the problems has more details. Users who are experiencing this, and find this bug, you can downgrade with the following command (Fedora 41, x86_64, adapt as necessary) > sudo dnf downgrade https://kojipkgs.fedoraproject.org//packages/kwin/6.3.2.1/1.fc41/x86_64/kwin-6.3.2.1-1.fc41.x86_64.rpm https://kojipkgs.fedoraproject.org//packages/kwin/6.3.2.1/1.fc41/x86_64/kwin-common-6.3.2.1-1.fc41.x86_64.rpm https://kojipkgs.fedoraproject.org//packages/kwin/6.3.2.1/1.fc41/x86_64/kwin-libs-6.3.2.1-1.fc41.x86_64.rpm https://kojipkgs.fedoraproject.org//packages/kwin/6.3.2.1/1.fc41/x86_64/kwin-wayland-6.3.2.1-1.fc41.x86_64.rpm

Tested against all 3 installed kernel versions, with the same result: -rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 16685416 Feb 18 19:00 vmlinuz-6.13.3-201.fc41.x86_64 -rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 16685416 Feb 21 19:00 vmlinuz-6.13.4-200.fc41.x86_64 -rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 16697704 Feb 26 19:00 vmlinuz-6.13.5-200.fc41.x86_64
I have downgraded for now, but if there's any further information I can help collect please let me know. I'm willing to reinstall the "faulty" packages if necessary.
There are reports that this happens on fedora 42 as well. https://discussion.fedoraproject.org/t/kwin-wayland-is-very-crashy-on-fedora-42/146685

As a data point I am running the exact same versions of kwin on AMD GPU when I run konsole I do not see crashs. Here is inxi -Fzxx for my system. Unfortunaterly, same here. Kwin 6.3.2.1-2 is unusable for me - constant kwin crashes. Downgrading fixed the issue entirely. I run AMD graphic card (6800S) with an AMD CPU (integrated card: 680M).
