Description Ralf Corsepius 2025-03-13 19:23:45 UTC
1. Please describe the problem:

I am drowning in kernel messages similar to this:
...
Mar 13 20:11:15 hathaway kernel: EDAC igen6 MC0: HANDLING IBECC MEMORY ERROR
Mar 13 20:11:15 hathaway kernel: EDAC igen6 MC0: ADDR 0x7fffffffe0
...

I am observing this issue on two different Intel N100-based systems.

Note: I am not only observing them at bootup - I am observing them permanently!

2. What is the Version-Release number of the kernel:
6.13.5-200.fc41.x86_64

3. Did it work previously in Fedora? If so, what kernel version did the issue
*first* appear? Old kernels are available for download at
   https://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/packageinfo?packageID=8 :
I don't know.

4. Can you reproduce this issue? If so, please provide the steps to reproduce
   the issue below:
Just boot and run fedora. These message are filling up the journal at a rate of ca. 1Hz (One per second).

5. Does this problem occur with the latest Rawhide kernel? To install the
Rawhide kernel, run ``sudo dnf install fedora-repos-rawhide`` followed by
   ``sudo dnf update --enablerepo=rawhide kernel``:
Not tried (yet)

6. Are you running any modules that not shipped with directly Fedora's kernel?:
No.

7. Please attach the kernel logs. You can get the complete kernel log
   for a boot with ``journalctl --no-hostname -k > dmesg.txt``. If the
issue occurred on a previous boot, use the journalctl ``-b`` flag.
Cf. attachment.

Reproducible: Always

Comment 2 Ralf Corsepius 2025-03-13 19:49:05 UTC
I tried a few older kernels.

kernel-6.12.15-200.fc41 and older do not expose this issue,
kernel-6.13.1-200.fc41 and later do.

Archlinux variant of this bug:

Likely upstream kernel fix:

Comment 4 LukasH 2025-03-21 08:18:27 UTC
I can confirm that in kernel 6.13.7-100.fc40.x86_64 the bug is still present (Intel N-100 based system / motherboard ASRock N100DC-ITX).
