Description Matt Fagnani 2025-03-15 04:10:35 UTC
I ran sudo dnf offline-upgrade download --refresh with updates-testing enabled in a Fedora 42 KDE installation. dnf problems occurred because qemu-block-nfs-2:9.2.0-21.fc42.x86_64 requires libnfs.so.14()(64bit) from libnfs-5.0.3-2.fc41.x86_64, but vlc-plugins-extra-1:3.0.21-19.fc42.x86_64 requires libnfs.so.16()(64bit) from libnfs-0:6.0.2-2.fc42.x86_64.

Problem 1: package qemu-block-nfs-2:9.2.0-21.fc42.x86_64 from updates-testing requires libnfs.so.14()(64bit), but none of the providers can be installed

  - package qemu-system-x86-2:9.2.0-21.fc42.x86_64 from updates-testing requires qemu-block-nfs = 2:9.2.0-21.fc42, but none of the providers can be installed

Comment 1 Matt Fagnani 2025-03-15 04:57:48 UTC
qemu-9.2.0-20.fc42 and vlc-3.0.21-19.fc42 and others were rebuilt with libnfs-6.0.2-2.fc42 which was in testing for 3 weeks due to the F42 freeze and was pushed to stable 4 hours ago https://bodhi.fedoraproject.org/updates/FEDORA-2025-052559f83a qemu might need to be rebuilt again with libnfs-6.0.2-2.fc42.

Comment 2 Richard W.M. Jones 2025-03-15 07:50:47 UTC
OK I see, qemu was rebuilt while the libnfs/qemu update was held in a side tag, and
as a result we ended up with the qemu linked to libnfs 5 with a higher NVR.

I will rebuild qemu now.
