Description Joshua Strobl 2025-03-19 18:29:19 UTC
When running Discover on a non-Plasma target (Fedora Budgie Beta 42 which switched from GNOME Software to Discover), Discover fails to launch.

org.kde.plasma.libdiscover: OdrsReviewsBackend: Fetch ratings: true
org.kde.plasma.libdiscover: Couldn't find the backend: "kns-backend" among QList("flatpak-backend", "fwupd-backend", "kns-backend", "packagekit-backend")
adding empty sources model QStandardItemModel(0x557367479500)
qrc:/qt/qml/org/kde/discover/qml/Navigation.qml:15:5: Type DiscoverWindow unavailable
qrc:/qt/qml/org/kde/discover/qml/DiscoverWindow.qml: module "org.kde.desktop" is not installed
org.kde.plasma.discover: Failed to import Navigation singleton

Installing kf6-qqc2-desktop-style resolves this and enables it to launch.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Get Fedora Budgie 42 Beta from https://fedoraproject.org/spins/budgie/download?beta
2. Launch Plasma Discover
3. See nothing happens
4. Open terminal, run: sudo dnf install kf6-qqc2-desktop-style
5. Relaunch Plasma Discover, see it works
Actual Results:
Fails to launch

Expected Results:
Launches
