I can confirm that it is the default change from browser.display.use_system_colors from false to true that causes the issue. Firefox 137.0b8 on Fedora (current beta installed from the Firefox site) does not show these artefacts - the browser.display.use_system_colors is still false here. Reproducible: Always
See my comment in https://bodhi.fedoraproject.org/updates/FEDORA-2025-f3e353ce04 (corresponding update for F41). I confirmed that the default setting for browser.display.use_system_colors changed from false to true, but I'm not seeing the artifacts described. So it could be something F40-specific or something specific to the reporter's setup.

1) Have 137.0b8 on Fedora (current beta installed from the Mozilla site). It has default false for browser.display.use_system_colors. If I change that to true, I get the same symptoms again. 2) New profile for 136.0.2 - exactly the same issue. Note that I also have a Fedora 41 machine and I see exactly the same problem with 136.0.2. I had assumed that this might be related to the colours of the theme. But I've tried fiddling with the theme elements without success. I use Cinnamon on all my machines, though one also has Gnome, which shows the same symptoms. In any case, as far as I can see, there's nothing unusual about my theme. It's also notable that the current beta from the Mozilla site still has that relevant default false. So why has the Fedora 136.0.2 rpm changed that default? Thanks for looking into this.
