Description Mark Pearson 2025-03-30 14:26:04 UTC
I think a recent kernel update maybe triggered this - but the
intel/ibt-0190-0291-pci.* files are missing from the linux-firmware package and means the bluetooth stops working with latest Fedora41

Once added in the bluetooth starts working again. Tested on X1 C13 LNL.

Can the linux-firmware package be updated with the two missing files please?

Thanks
Mark

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Update to latest F41 (6.13.8-200.fc41.x86_64 kernel)
2. Try and use bluetooth
3.
Actual Results:
No BT

Expected Results:
BT working

We're hoping to cut the Fedora preload for the X1 Carbon 13 next week (there's a mute LED fix that also needs to be pulled in but is more minor).
Anything I can do to help with just let me know :)

I generally don't push out a fix with single file updates because
1) it's very large update which the vat majority of users won't need yet will get
2) the binary git diffs don't easily apply using the rpm build process is a PITA

There will be a new release around 8-10 Apr, is that too late?

Thanks Peter,

Fair enough - understood. That should be fine - I can ask them to hold back the Fedora testing for a few more days (and it will give more chance for the Mute key LED fix to land too).

Mark

This issue also impacts the Dell XPS 13 - 9250 model running Intel Core 7. Working around it for now by pinning linux-firmware to 20250211.
