Then you should report this as a bug. You can generate a local policy module to allow this access. Do allow this access for now by executing: # ausearch -c 'tuned-ppd' --raw | audit2allow -M my-tunedppd # semodule -X 300 -i my-tunedppd.pp Additional Information: Source Context system_u:system_r:tuned_ppd_t:s0 Target Context system_u:object_r:sysfs_t:s0 Target Objects /sys/firmware/acpi [ dir ] Source tuned-ppd Source Path tuned-ppd Port <Unknown> Host (removed) Source RPM Packages Target RPM Packages SELinux Policy RPM selinux-policy-targeted-41.36-1.fc42.noarch Local Policy RPM selinux-policy-targeted-41.36-1.fc42.noarch Selinux Enabled True Policy Type targeted Enforcing Mode Enforcing Host Name (removed) Platform Linux (removed) 6.14.0-63.fc42.x86_64 #1 SMP PREEMPT_DYNAMIC Mon Mar 24 19:53:37 UTC 2025 x86_64 Alert Count 7 First Seen 2025-04-09 13:50:51 AST Last Seen 2025-04-10 16:01:03 AST Local ID 3be543de-9fac-489f-8806-6f0a79d34cc4 Raw Audit Messages type=AVC msg=audit(1744315263.81:133): avc: denied { watch_reads } for pid=1215 comm="tuned-ppd" path="/sys/firmware/acpi" dev="sysfs" ino=6775 scontext=system_u:system_r:tuned_ppd_t:s0 tcontext=system_u:object_r:sysfs_t:s0 tclass=dir permissive=1 Hash: tuned-ppd,tuned_ppd_t,sysfs_t,dir,watch_reads Version-Release number of selected component: selinux-policy-targeted-41.36-1.fc42.noarch Additional info: reporter: libreport-2.17.15 reason: SELinux is preventing tuned-ppd from 'watch_reads' accesses on the directory /sys/firmware/acpi. package: selinux-policy-targeted-41.36-1.fc42.noarch component: selinux-policy hashmarkername: setroubleshoot type: libreport kernel: 6.14.0-63.fc42.x86_64 component: selinux-policy
