Dear dump maintainer. Fedora 41 dump-0.4-0.57.b47.fc41.x86_64 Fedora 42 dump-1:0.4-0.57.b47.fc41.x86_64 When restoring file(s) with `restore`, I get inundated with these messages: restore: <name unknown>: ftruncate: Invalid argument restore: <name unknown>: ftruncate: Invalid argument and on and on and so forth. This bug has been fix by "upstream" (0.4b48) https://sourceforge.net/p/dump/bugs/158/ Would you please update dump! Many thanks, -T Reproducible: Always
Here is upsteam: https://sourceforge.net/projects/dump/files/dump/0.4b51/
I have two servers effected by this. This is important. Tim at upstream, shwed how to create an rpm of the latest dump. He even included an FC40 srpm. https://sourceforge.net/p/dump/support-requests/19/
The upgrade to dump version 0.4b52 should be in the Fedora testing repos in a few hours. F42 https://bodhi.fedoraproject.org/updates/FEDORA-2025-03a911c80e F41 https://bodhi.fedoraproject.org/updates/FEDORA-2025-fdb62495b9 F40 https://bodhi.fedoraproject.org/updates/FEDORA-2025-29b44a4304
Fedora 41 dump-0.4-0.59.b52.fc41.x86_64 /usr/sbin/dump -0a -z -f /lin-bak/2025-05-07_rootExt4Dump.gz / free(): invalid pointer /home/linuxutil/backup-rn6: line 640: 28450 Aborted (core dumped) /usr/sbin/dump -0a -z -f /lin-bak/2025-05-07_rootExt4Dump.gz /
The Fedora testing repos now contain dump-0.4-0.60.b52.fc41, which should work better.
FEDORA-2025-03a911c80e has been pushed to the Fedora 42 stable repository. FEDORA-2025-fdb62495b9 has been pushed to the Fedora 41 stable repository. If the problem still persists, please make note of it in this bug report.
