Description happy.grass9513 2025-04-15 19:34:59 UTC
Documented in this issue: https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/mesa/mesa/-/issues/12809

A supposed fix (https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/mesa/mesa/-/merge_requests/34491) has been merged and I'd really appreciate if it was back-ported

Reproducible: Sometimes

Steps to Reproduce:
Using GNOME Wayland on an AMD Radeon 760M graphics card
1. Launch a few applications, I find web browsers and electron apps, and websites containing video are most affected
2. Use the machine for a few minutes
Actual Results:
After some time (usually 20 minutes to an hour) of using my system as a desktop (Web browser, Chat applications using electron, Terminal, IDE) I start to notice graphics corruption in a few applications. This graphics corruption intensifies over a period of around 10 minutes until the entire DE begins to freeze for about 10 seconds at a time, and eventually crashes to the login screen.

Expected Results:
Graphics corruption does not occur and desktop environment is stable
