Description of problem:
i had an USB stick plugged in that was previously formatted by an HP tool for a bios update, opening partitionmanager while this usb stick is plugged in causes it to crash on startup

Tried to start from commandline. Crashed immediately when running with sudo; if running without sudo it crashes immediately after I give my password in the authentication dialog.
