1: start a single instance of screen 2: Inside screen, try to use the -X flag to run screen commands from the shell, e.g. "screen -X register . clean-cut-paste" screen terminates when trying to run commands from the command line. From inside screen, when running a single instance of screen, running "screen -X register . clean-cut-paste" causes a core dump. The same happens for other commands, e.g.: > screen -X echo a *** buffer overflow detected ***: terminated zsh: IOT instruction (core dumped) screen -X echo a Also, the problem occurs the same whether running "screen -X" from inside or outside a screen session, I just reported what made me aware of the problem first. reporter: libreport-2.17.15 journald_cursor: s=1567937fe20a40729a764f7bdcfc940a;i=3e84f8;b=1a9dd759ce794fe2b9a455d6897a61f0;m=ec84dbb;t=634b185f6e57f;x=97277cf17de8a23c backtrace_rating: 4 executable: /usr/bin/screen runlevel: N 5 cgroup: 0::/user.slice/user-1000.slice/user/app.slice/app-foot kernel: 6.14.5-300.fc42.x86_64 type: CCpp crash_function: strncpy uid: 1000 reason: screen killed by SIGABRT package: screen-5.0.0-2.fc42 rootdir: / cmdline: screen -X register . clean-cut-paste
