Description James Reilly 2025-04-25 07:32:44 UTC
Please branch and build rclone in epel10.

If you do not wish to maintain rclone in epel10,
or do not think you will be able to do this in a timely manner,
I would be happy to be a co-maintainer of the package (FAS jreilly1821);
please add me through https://src.fedoraproject.org/rpms/restic/adduser

Comment 1 James Reilly 2025-05-23 07:31:46 UTC
Will you be able to branch and build rclone in epel10?
I would be happy to be a co-maintainer if you do not wish
to build it on epel10 (FAS: jreilly1821).

The maintainer won't be able to add you as a co-maintainer because you're not in the packagers group. Here's a guide for accomplishing that.

Comment 4 Mikel Olasagasti Uranga 2025-06-09 21:38:49 UTC
As part of the Go SIG, we have proposed a system-wide change for how Go applications are packaged:

https://discussion.fedoraproject.org/t/f43-change-proposal-golang-packages-vendored-by-default-system-wide/154986

Although the change is primarily intended for Fedora, the plan is to apply it to EPEL as well. Packaging rclone unvendored in EPEL is not a viable option. If vendoring is necessary, using the same method as in Fedora helps reduce maintenance overhead. Once the change is approved and go-vendor-tools is available for EPEL it should be easy to have rclone in EPEL10.
