vpnc.spec specifies %package consoleuser Requires: usermode %install make install DESTDIR="$RPM_BUILD_ROOT" PREFIX=/usr SBINDIR=%{_sbindir} ln -sf consolehelper $RPM_BUILD_ROOT%{_bindir}/vpnc ln -sf consolehelper $RPM_BUILD_ROOT%{_bindir}/vpnc-disconnect %files %{_sbindir}/vpnc %{_sbindir}/vpnc-disconnect %files consoleuser %{_bindir}/vpnc %{_bindir}/vpnc-disconnect Since the merge of /usr/sbin and /usr/bin, the two files listed above under %files and the same location of the 2 files under %files consoleuser. Since in the %install section the links to consolehelper are done after make install, installing the vpnc package results in links /usr/bin/vpnc -> consolehelper (and likewise for vpnc-disconnect), but the vpnc package does not have a Requires: usermode, and to the installation results in dangling links if usermode is not installed. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Install vpnc without vpnc-consoleuser or usermode installed 2. 3. Actual Results: /usr/bin/vpnc and /usr/bin/vpnc-disconnect are links to consolehelper which does not exist. Expected Results: /usr/bin/vpnc and /usr/bin/vpnc-disconnect installed from the vpnc package should not be symbolic links but should be the compiled binary files/scripts. Additional Information: Do the vpnc and vpnc-disconnect files installed by vpnc-consoleuser be renamed so that they don't conflict with the files from the vpnc package?
