Description of problem:
sata controller use ide mode still not supported by current RHEL version.

Steps to Reproduce:
1.insert cdrom
2.load installer
3.cdrom not found
  
Actual results:
no supported

Expected results:
should be able to install RHEL from pata cdrom on most 965 MB

Is it possible to patch to get IDE cdrom working

Hi Justin,
I've talked with Don Howard about this bug and it's not possible to include this
patch. Only critical and security updates are accepted for RHEL-3 kernel now.

This bug is filed against RHEL 3, which is in maintenance phase.
During the maintenance phase, only security errata and select mission
critical bug fixes will be released for enterprise products. Since
this bug does not meet that criteria, it is now being closed.
