Description Carl George 🤠 2025-05-13 00:30:39 UTC
Description of problem:
nrpe and nagios-plugins-nrpe from EPEL 10 have unresolved dependencies, causing them to be uninstallable.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
nrpe-4.1.3-1.el10_0
nagios-plugins-nrpe-4.1.3-1.el10_0

How reproducible:
always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. dnf install nrpe nagios-plugins-nrpe

Actual results:
Error:
 Problem 1: conflicting requests
  - nothing provides nagios-common needed by nrpe-4.1.3-1.el10_0.x86_64 from epel
 Problem 2: conflicting requests
  - nothing provides nagios-plugins needed by nagios-plugins-nrpe-4.1.3-1.el10_0.x86_64 from epel

Expected results:
successful installation

Additional info:
To avoid having the uninstallable packages present in the repos, I have removed the epel10.0 and epel10.1 tags from the nrpe-4.1.3-1.el10_0 build. The epel10 and epel10.0 branches aren't retired, so as soon as the dependencies are available you can re-publish the package by creating a new build and update.

Comment 1 ZC 2025-05-28 07:11:26 UTC
RHEL10 and AlmaLinux10 stable already are available.
Unfortunately, currently there are no nagios/nrpe packages in epel10 repo.
Any news/plans regarding this?
