Specifically, please remember that it is your responsibility to review the new version to ensure that the licensing is still correct and that no non-free or legally problematic items have been added upstream. SDL3 3.2.12 is affected by a regression that causes duplicated keyboard input: https://github.com/libsdl-org/SDL/issues/13006 ("Commit `f4813ca` breaks X11 keyboard input") In Fedora, this not only affects software using SDL3, but also software using SDL2: SDL2 has been replaced with sdl2-compat based on SDL3. I noticed the problem while using Luanti (formerly Minetest), which is also affected (and the Luanti version packaged by Fedora is affected too): https://github.com/luanti-org/luanti/issues/16143 So updating to SDL3 3.2.14 would be good.
Releases retrieved: 2.32.8, 3.2.16 Upstream release that is considered latest: 3.2.16 Current version/release in rawhide: 3.2.12-1.fc43 URL: https://wiki.libsdl.org/SDL3 Please consult the package updates policy before you issue an update to a stable branch: https://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/fesco/Updates_Policy/ More information about the service that created this bug can be found at: https://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/package-maintainers/Upstream_Release_Monitoring Please keep in mind that with any upstream change, there may also be packaging changes that need to be made. SDL3.2.12 is also affected by a regression where inputs are not processed anymore. I found this out using `moonlight-qt` (not officially packaged in fedora but you can find the spec file here: https://git.sr.ht/~xdbob/rpm-moonlight-qt/tree/master/item/moonlight-qt.spec ). I locally upgraded to `3.2.16` and confirms the issue is gone. Relevant upstream issues: * moonlight-qt: https://github.com/moonlight-stream/moonlight-qt/issues/1592 * SDL: https://github.com/libsdl-org/SDL/issues/12866 (note: the fix commit appears to be `e3d44cdd51155946bd0762cd0d8e8c75f5e9ed4e`)
