Surprisingly, the systemd unit for synapse doesn't restrict any access at all. That is quite unexpected for a daemon packaged in Fedora. The following can probably all be added: ReadWritePaths=/var/lib/synapse NoNewPrivileges=yes PrivateDevices=yes PrivateTmp=yes ProtectHome=yes ProtectSystem=strict ProtectControlGroups=true RestrictSUIDSGID=true RestrictRealtime=true LockPersonality=true ProtectKernelLogs=true ProtectKernelTunables=true ProtectHostname=true ProtectKernelModules=true PrivateUsers=true ProtectClock=true SystemCallArchitectures=native SystemCallErrorNumber=EPERM SystemCallFilter=@system-service Reproducible: Always
This message is a reminder that Fedora Linux 42 is nearing its end of life. Fedora will stop maintaining and issuing updates for Fedora Linux 42 on 2026-05-13.
