Description Mark Pearson 2025-05-21 15:54:04 UTC
This bug is for tracking against the MR I am working on

1. Please describe the problem:
Upstream issue: https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/drm/xe/kernel/-/issues/3992
Upstream fix: https://cgit.freedesktop.org/drm-intel/commit/?h=drm-intel-next&id=67a98f7e27baf8c22483ec4873a8d8efdf71b55d

On Lunarlake platforms if the screen is inverted flickering is seen when the mouse if moved. DRM pipe errors are seen in the kernel log

Looking to backport the fix to the fedora-6.14 kernel so users don't hit the issue (the inverted screen can be seen on the 2-in-1 platforms when in tablet mode)

2. What is the Version-Release number of the kernel:
Fix is landing in 6.15

3. Did it work previously in Fedora? If so, what kernel version did the issue
*first* appear? Old kernels are available for download at
   https://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/packageinfo?packageID=8 :
6.14

4. Can you reproduce this issue? If so, please provide the steps to reproduce
   the issue below:
Yes.
 - Invert screen display and move mouse.

5. Does this problem occur with the latest Rawhide kernel? To install the
Rawhide kernel, run ``sudo dnf install fedora-repos-rawhide`` followed by
   ``sudo dnf update --enablerepo=rawhide kernel``:
Not tried, but I think it's fixed in rawhide

6. Are you running any modules that not shipped with directly Fedora's kernel?:
No

7. Please attach the kernel logs. You can get the complete kernel log
   for a boot with ``journalctl --no-hostname -k > dmesg.txt``. If the
issue occurred on a previous boot, use the journalctl ``-b`` flag.
N/A
