Description Enrique 2025-05-22 10:53:24 UTC
Please branch and build python-markupsafe in EPEL 10.

I would like to request a python package for markupsafe (https://markupsafe.palletsprojects.com/) similar to the existing packages in Fedora (python3-markupsafe).

Thanks!

Reproducible: Always

I just realized there is a markupsafe package in AlmaLinux 10 AppStream: https://vault.almalinux.org/10.0-beta/AppStream/x86_64/os/Packages/python3-markupsafe-2.1.3-5.el10.x86_64.rpm

Maybe this means there is no need for EPEL to provide one?

See also https://tiny.distro.builders/view-rpm--view-c10s--python3-markupsafe.html; similarly to bug 2367957, python3-markupsafe-2.1.3-6.el10 is indeed in AppStream.

Packages that are in AppStream or CRB repos are “in RHEL,” and are not eligible for EPEL. You’re expected to enable those repos instead. EPEL packages are built with both repos enabled.

Thanks for the info!
And sorry for the extra noise.
