Orca has a normally unbound key that speaks CPU and memory usage that can be bound in orca settings. On Fedora MATE spin, it worked, but on Fedora Workstation, it said "CPU and memory information unknown". After asking online, I was told to try installing the python-psutil package and this fixed it, but ideally this should work by default or give a less confusing error. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Install Fedora Workstation 42 with GNOME 2. Start Orca with super + S, then insert + space to open settings, go to key bindings, open system information and bind "Speak CPU and memory information" to something. 3. Press it. Actual Results: CPU and memory information unknown. Expected Results: CPU info.
This issue is not in Anaconda. The failure happens because Orca’s above mentioned feature requires the python3-psutil package. On Fedora Workstation it is possibly n ot installed by default. On the MATE spin, python3-psutil is probably present, which is why it works there. A possible fix would be to add a Recommends: python3-psutil in the orca package [1], for enabling that feature.
