Robert released Lmod 8.7.62 with 2 very important changes: - It does away with using spiderT to rebuild internal data structures when there is a new depends_on() function() over and over again. It now only does it once. - It has a new way of checking if the currently loaded modules still satisfy the dependency requirements by storing the dependencies in the ModuleTable. This has a huge impact on the speed of loading modules. I'm seeing speed-ups of 5x to 10x (depending on the number of dependencies to load). Please update the EPEL version (el8/el9/el10) of Lmod to 8.7.62. I'm happy to test it.
In the meantime we are already at Lmod 8.7.65. Anything I can do to help with the update?
Sorry, this fell off my radar. Updates coming.
