Description Fedora Release Engineering 2025-07-31 10:23:48 UTC
python-matplotlib failed to build from source in Fedora rawhide/f43

https://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/taskinfo?taskID=135247095

For details on the mass rebuild see:

https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Fedora_43_Mass_Rebuild
Please fix python-matplotlib at your earliest convenience and set the bug's status to
ASSIGNED when you start fixing it. If the bug remains in NEW state for 8 weeks,
python-matplotlib will be orphaned. Before branching of Fedora 44,
python-matplotlib will be retired, if it still fails to build.

Comment 4 Miro Hrončok 2025-08-26 10:47:58 UTC
Reopening as python-matplotlib-3.10.5-1.fc43 happened before the Python 3.14.0rc2 bytecode rebuild and matplotlib seems to FTBFS again.

Comment 5 Miro Hrončok 2025-08-26 11:08:43 UTC
Hello. This is a bulk comment.

This package still needs to be rebuilt and/or shipped with Python 3.14.0rc2+ bytecode in Fedora 43.

The Beta Freeze of Fedora 43 is scheduled to start today. Please prioritize this bugzilla accordingly.

Thanks.

If it failed, that seems like a flaky test.
