Hi, I thought I would help you along with this package. * Build - RPM build warnings: File listed twice: /usr/share/peazip/share/copying/copying.txt * With GTK2 being phased out and only really present for compatibilty. Do we need to do a GTK2 build? * 'copying_we.txt' - It's impact on the packages licensing? - Other licenses relevant in package? * GUI apps should an appstream metinfo file. - https://www.freedesktop.org/software/appstream/docs/ * Install of GTK3 version good and first run. - Side comment: the graphical menu bar is larger than one might expect or like. Regards Phil
> * Build > - RPM build warnings: File listed twice: /usr/share/peazip/share/copying/copying.txt Meh. rpmbuild magic that autoincludes some files. Fixed. > * With GTK2 being phased out and only really present for compatibilty. Do we need to do a GTK2 build? I think it doesn't hurt having it. Should GTK2 get removed from the distro one day, disabling the GTK2 build here is trivial. Also, despite GTK3 also being quite old at the time, it's still considered "experimental" in Lazarus. > * 'copying_we.txt' - It's impact on the packages licensing? > - Other licenses relevant in package? Ah, good catch. The program uses some code by other authors, subject to Zlib. Also the -common subpackage contains some prebuilt .pdf documentation subject to GNU FDL. > * GUI apps should an appstream metinfo file. > - https://www.freedesktop.org/software/appstream/docs/ Upstream doesn't ship a metainfo file and I didn't feel like writing one myself, so I borrowed the file from Flathub. spec: https://suve.fedorapeople.org/review/peazip-10.9.0-2/peazip.spec srpm: https://suve.fedorapeople.org/review/peazip-10.9.0-2/peazip-10.9.0-2.fc43.src.rpm koji: https://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/taskinfo?taskID=142944327

Hi, After research, there is no foreseen removal of GTK2 from Fedora. I won't be asking that of anyone in future. :-) Thanks for making the changes you have. With this being the first time peazip will enter Fedora, you need to be a '-1' version and I would removal all other changelog entries and have the one 'Initial Fedoa packaging' or whatever you wish. I would be happy to pass the package after this is done. Regards Phil
> With this being the first time peazip will enter Fedora, you need to be a '-1' version and I would > removal all other changelog entries and have the one 'Initial Fedoa packaging' Uhh, I don't recall this ever being a part of the packaging guidelines or the new package policy. It is a good habit though and I may sugegst it. :-) Package looks good. As a returning 'proven packager' who has to start again at 'packager', I can not yet sponsor directly. I have marked the package '+'. You will now need to request sponsorship by filinf a ticket below. https://pagure.io/packager-sponsors/issues All info at below. https://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/package-maintainers/Package_Review_Process/ I hope you can get sponsored soon. Regards Phil
I am already a packager, so I don't need sponsoring. Please set the bug to ASSIGNED and set yourself as the assignee. releng-bot requires this for new repo requests.
