Dear package maintainer, Due to reasons described in https://lists.fedoraproject.org/archives/list/devel@lists.fedoraproject.org/thread/XO5QGOXBWHFG7AOGDQBG23AQDS2MDTWI/ a rebuild of llvm is needed in Fedora 43. During the mass rebuild, it was determined that rawhide and f43 branches differ, hence I did not know if I could safely merge rawhide into f43 or if the f43 branch needs a diverging bump. Please, determine this yourself and rebuild the package in Fedora 43, ideally before the Fedora 43 Beta freeze (2025-08-26). Thank you. Let me know if you need help.
Here, even the rawhide build failed with: DEBUG util.py:459: Failed to resolve the transaction: DEBUG util.py:459: No match for argument: binutils-gold Hence, please also rebuild this in rawhide once binutils-gold is restored, as communicated in https://discussion.fedoraproject.org/t/f43-change-proposal-deprecate-the-gold-linker-system-wide/146851/5
We are planning to rebase llvm to the next version on Aug 26 and then request a Beta Freeze exception. Is it OK to wait that long for the rebuild or do we need to do one earlier?
It's OK. Just please keep this bugzilla open until you do that. Thanks.
FTR the rawhide build succeeded eventually but seems stuck on gating https://bodhi.fedoraproject.org/updates/FEDORA-2025-10560614eb
