Description Timothée Ravier 2025-09-01 16:10:45 UTC
According to https://github.com/coreos/rhel-coreos-config/pull/42, neither the kubelet nor cri-o need the conntrack binary anymore (since 1.24 for kubernetes, since 1.25 for CRI-O).

We should thus remove the dependencies in the kubernetes packages.

I have not found release notes to confirm that but the author of the linked PR is a Kubernetes SIG Network Tech Lead (https://github.com/danwinship).

Reproducible: Always

Comment 1 Brad Smith 2025-09-02 14:50:30 UTC
Thanks for the notice. Updated packages are underway. The spec file used by the kubernetes team for kubelet still requires conntrack-tools. Last update for that spec file was 2 years ago.

Can you link to the specfile? I can not find it. I'll make a PR there as well. Thanks!
