This is a bug in mutter, see https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gnome-shell/-/issues/8640 Arch has backported a fix (https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gnome-shell/-/issues/8640), maybe Fedora should too?
@cgarnach Hi Carlos! You fixed it in GNOME, can we please get a backport for Fedora? This is quite an inconvenience especially for blind users. Or is this coming as part of GNOME 49.1 in time before F43 Final? Thanks!
Proposed as a Blocker and Freeze Exception for 43-final by Fedora user augenauf using the blocker tracking app because: Violates Window manager functionality, see https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Fedora_43_Final_Release_Criteria#Window_manager_functionality Moreover it is a major inconvenience for visually impaired users - not a criteria but it should be one to comply Fedora's mission of Inclusion, see https://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/dei/

Pavel, can you please test if the update fixes the issue? You can install it like this: $ sudo dnf install bodhi-client $ bodhi updates download --updateid FEDORA-2025-343d835ddb $ sudo dnf update *.rpm $ reboot
I cannot reproduce on my machine with the above fix. But let's see how it works for Pavel.
(In reply to Lukas Ruzicka from comment #7) > I cannot reproduce on my machine with the above fix. But let's see how it > works for Pavel. I am on sick leave, but I upgraded the computer and the issue is gone for me. I used sudo dnf upgrade. I get some updates, so I installed, rebooted and the issue is gone without installing requested FEDORA-2025-343d835ddb.
Thanks for confirmation. The update was pushed to updates-testing 13 hours ago, so I assume you already received it as part of a regular update. If people provide karma, we can push this stable.

Update fixed the issue for me.
Discussed at the 2025-09-29 (blocker / freeze exception) review meeting: This bug is rejected as it doesn't seem straightforwardly reproducible, as confirmed by several testers. It is not considered severe enough to block the release. Note that it is already accepted as a Freeze Exception, and the fix is tested and will be included regardless. https://meetbot-raw.fedoraproject.org//blocker-review_matrix_fedoraproject-org/2025-09-29/f43-blocker-review.2025-09-29-16.03.txt
