Description Karolina Surma 2025-09-19 13:41:04 UTC
Dear package maintainer,

Due to reasons described in https://lists.fedoraproject.org/archives/list/devel@lists.fedoraproject.org/thread/O6LBYY446Q2FWVBEVJCOJ34ADXTEIH65/ a rebuild of python-PyMuPDF is needed in Fedora 43.

During the mass rebuild, it was determined that rawhide and f43 branches differ, hence I did not know if I could safely merge rawhide into f43 or if the f43 branch needs a diverging bump.

Please, determine this yourself and rebuild the package in Fedora 43, ideally before the Fedora 43 Final freeze (2025-10-07).

Thank you. Let me know if you need help.

FYI:

This one was not submitted as planned.

I had a mupdf and PyMuPDF update in flight which was held back by the wait for the n-th rebuild for python 3.14 pyc changes (n=3, probably). Due to a mis-type, I pushed the prepared PyMuPDF update to the dist-git main repo rather than my fork as intended. I did not build it but the automatic mass rebuild did for F44.

I will bring PyMuPDF in F43 up to the F44 version, which includes the version update and picks up the pyc recompile. mupdf related rebuilds to be done later in a side-tag.
