I have gone into Settings -> Keyboard -> Input Sources and added Korean -> Korean (Hangul). One usability problem is that it's unclear how to switch input methods. I think doing a web search I discovered it's possible to switch to 한 with Super+Space, but this appears to have no effect; typing still produces Latin letters. In order to actually type Hangul, after switching with Super+Space, I have to notice that "en" has changed to "EN" in the bar at the top of the screen and that I need to click on it to get a menu and enable "Hangul mode". A second usability problem is that I cannot see a Hangul keyboard layout, which I need because I am physically typing on a QWERTY keyboard. Turning on Hangul mode and going to 한 -> Show Keyboard Layout pulls up a keyboard map, I believe in a program called tecla, which has two pages and is labelled at the top "Keyboard Layout - Korean". The first page shows a lowercase qwerty keyboard, and the other page shows an uppercase QWERTY keyboard. There is no page showing which key corresponds to which jamo, so the only way to type words in Korean is to just press all the buttons on my keyboard until I find the one I need, iteratively. 8( This is with ibus-hangul-1.5.5-11.fc43 and tecla-49.0-1.fc43.
You should be able to toggle Hangul with Shift-Space (between direct and hangul input). If you are not familiar with Hangul keyboard layout, you might want to switch to the Romaja layout in the Hangul Setup. Tecla ought to be able to render Korean keyboard layouts: but seems it cannot (tecla is not ibus/IME aware though), but you could file an upstream GNOME bug for that.
Also if you don't want to use Shift-Space you can configure the Hangul IME to start in Hangul mode in the Setup. Upstream decided to make it more modal (and default to direct ("English") input) some years ago. For most native users this is actually the right thing.
The GNOME panel menu has "Setup" menu item or you could run /usr/libexec/ibus-setup-hangul directly and the "Hangul Toggle Key" section in the dialog shows the default shortcut key is Shift+space. My understanding is the default behavior is same with MS-Windows however one idea would be to request https://github.com/libhangul/ibus-hangul/wiki to describe the setup. I'm not sure about tecla or it does not work in my environment. GNOME provides the on-screen keyboard whose menu can be enable with `gnome-control-center universal-access` command.
FWIW, both tecla and the on-screen keyboard uses data from xkeyboard-config. tecla can be launched from command line, or from the "Show Keyboard Layout" gnome-shell input source menu. I recently opened a related RFE for ibus https://github.com/ibus/ibus/issues/2794 So far the conclusion is that each ibus-engine may provide their own keymap to customize the on-screen keyboard. I haven't tried it yet, but I plan to test it with ibus-chewing.
