Description of problem: After upgrading from Fedora 42 Workstation to 43, launching liferea from the desktop icon does nothing. Launching it from the command-line (as "liferea") does nothing either, and only prints: > Failed to register: Timeout was reached Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): liferea-1.15.8-3.fc43.x86_64 How reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Launch liferea from desktop icon or command line 2. ... ... wait 3. nothing happens Actual results: Does not launch. Expected results: Does launch. Additional info:
Liferea is a victim of the pygobject upgrade fiasco. Switching to 1.16.5 , libpeas2 and with some additional fixes it should work for what is in f43, but I wonder if we should wait for 1.16.6 which seems to have another major refactor incoming
Proposed as a Freeze Exception for 43-final by Fedora user decathorpe using the blocker tracking app because: liferea does not launch on Fedora 43 at all, apparently due to changes in pygobject3 3.52+.
On a second thought I'll update to 1.16.5 that should at least work
