Description of problem: Starting podman containers SELinux is preventing pasta.avx2 from 'search' accesses on the directory ns. ***** Plugin catchall (100. confidence) suggests ************************** If you believe that pasta.avx2 should be allowed search access on the ns directory by default. Then you should report this as a bug. You can generate a local policy module to allow this access. Do allow this access for now by executing: # ausearch -c 'pasta.avx2' --raw | audit2allow -M my-pastaavx2 # semodule -X 300 -i my-pastaavx2.pp Additional Information: Source Context unconfined_u:unconfined_r:pasta_t:s0-s0:c0.c1023 Target Context system_u:system_r:container_t:s0:c378,c527 Target Objects ns [ dir ] Source pasta.avx2 Source Path pasta.avx2 Port <Άγνωστο> Host (removed) Source RPM Packages Target RPM Packages SELinux Policy RPM selinux-policy-targeted-42.9-1.fc42.noarch Local Policy RPM Selinux Enabled True Policy Type targeted Enforcing Mode Enforcing Host Name (removed) Platform Linux (removed) 6.16.9-200.fc42.x86_64 #1 SMP PREEMPT_DYNAMIC Thu Sep 25 18:05:50 UTC 2025 x86_64 Alert Count 86 First Seen 2025-10-06 09:23:11 EEST Last Seen 2025-10-06 09:24:36 EEST Local ID 991e7c84-eabf-44e0-bad0-363954eb16ee Raw Audit Messages type=AVC msg=audit(1759731876.859:1640): avc: denied { search } for pid=33449 comm="pasta.avx2" name="ns" dev="proc" ino=156203 scontext=unconfined_u:unconfined_r:pasta_t:s0-s0:c0.c1023 tcontext=system_u:system_r:container_t:s0:c378,c527 tclass=dir permissive=0 Hash: pasta.avx2,pasta_t,container_t,dir,search Version-Release number of selected component: selinux-policy-targeted-42.9-1.fc42.noarch Additional info: reporter: libreport-2.17.15 type: libreport comment: Starting podman containers hashmarkername: setroubleshoot reason: SELinux is preventing pasta.avx2 from 'search' accesses on the directory ns. kernel: 6.16.9-200.fc42.x86_64 package: selinux-policy-targeted-42.9-1.fc42.noarch component: selinux-policy component: selinux-policy

This message is a reminder that Fedora Linux 42 is nearing its end of life. Fedora will stop maintaining and issuing updates for Fedora Linux 42 on 2026-05-13. It is Fedora's policy to close all bug reports from releases that are no longer maintained. At that time this bug will be closed as EOL if it remains open with a 'version' of '42'. Package Maintainer: If you wish for this bug to remain open because you plan to fix it in a currently maintained version, change the 'version' to a later Fedora Linux version. Note that the version field may be hidden. Click the "Show advanced fields" button if you do not see it. Thank you for reporting this issue and we are sorry that we were not able to fix it before Fedora Linux 42 is end of life. If you would still like to see this bug fixed and are able to reproduce it against a later version of Fedora Linux, you are encouraged to change the 'version' to a later version prior to this bug being closed.
