Description Akira TAGOH 2025-10-09 06:45:29 UTC
Even if IBus is running on LXQt desktop and Super+space shows engines and switch, the ibus icon at the systray doesn't change and no input through engines and ascii characters is passed through.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Install LXQt
2.Login with LXQt desktop
3.Open QTerminal
Actual Results:
No inputs through engines

Expected Results:
IME should works

Additional Information:
GNOME applications such as gedit from QTerminal just works. So they should be configured properly.

Which Xorg or Wayland session did you try?

For LXQt Xorg, I was asked to set a window manager with a dialog at the login time and either /usr/bin/mutter or /usr/bin/labwc didn't work but /usr/bin/xfce4-session can be launched and Super-space works in qterminal with QT_IM_MODULE=ibus

For LXQt Wayland, I was asked to set a compositor with a dialog at the login time and /usr/bin/labwc and waybar works and Super-space works in qterminal without QT_IM_MODULE.

Sorry, I missed the important information. I experienced this on the installed Live image, but the latest image seems not bootable. rawhide Live is bootable but not installable (missing liveinst). I'll revisit this later.

FYI.
I've used Fedora workstation with Plasma dessktop and else.
I tried `dnf group install lxqt-desktop` but some packages are conflicted so I run `rpm -e sddm-wayland-plasma sddm kde-settings-sddm sddm-kcm sddm-breeze` and I succeeded `dnf group install lxqt-desktop`.
I also installed labwc-session and waybar.
