(For the Freeze Exception) Reproducible: Always Reproducible: Always
FEDORA-2025-4af78f83d9 (lxqt-wayland-session-0.2.1-2.fc43) has been submitted as an update to Fedora 43. https://bodhi.fedoraproject.org/updates/FEDORA-2025-4af78f83d9
Proposed as a Freeze Exception for 43-final by Fedora user sfaulken using the blocker tracking app because: Update refines configuration files for the various compositors, for end user experience.
In https://pagure.io/fedora-qa/blocker-review/issue/1982 Neal claims "the desktop totally crashes when trying to launch" (without this update). Is that correct? The current freeze exception justification doesn't include this, or any other strong reason for pushing it through the freeze. Please clarify, thanks.
Correct, the desktop crashes when attempting to login as "liveuser" and kicks the user back to the sddm display manager, without any sort of visible error indicated, leaving the user with no idea what is going on.
+3 (+4 / -1) in https://pagure.io/fedora-qa/blocker-review/issue/1982 , marking accepted.
I can see the same issue on latest lxqt-wayland-session 0.2.1-3. I have not installed using the Live image, instead I used the Everything image. After installation, I can log in on a virtual terminal, but I cannot log into the graphical system. It will always bring me back to sddm. When the password is incorrect, sddm will not allow to login, which seems correct. I am attaching the logs from the affected machine. I will also try to use the Lxqt Live image and see how that differs from this experience.

Oh, I was wrong, the version was 0.2.0-3. So I did not get latest updates during the system installation. Sorry.
I have tested the update, it does not work for me. I still cannot login.

Hmm, I believe that I updated the complete advisory. If I still have time, I will recheck with the release candidate, this should be solved in it.
There were two separate advisories, one for lxqt-session, one for lxqt-wayland-session. RC includes both.
Confirmed I can boot, install and boot the installed system with the RC.
