I have a similar problem, however, rather than there being no sound I only get very quiet sound, using a clean install of F7. Also, using a different soundcard: Intel Corporation 82801G (ICH7 Family) High Definition Audio Controller (rev 02) I've created an attatchment the /root/scsconfig.log file as before. Can supply any more needed information :D

I have the same problem with the Intel 82801G sound controller. Apparently, this is a known problem. On Fedora Core 6, I solved the issue by creating the file /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base with the line "options snd-intel-hda model=3stack". I replaced FC6 with a clean install (rather than upgrade) of Fedora 7. During firstboot, I hear a high-pitched whine when testing the sound. The 3stack-trick doesn't work anymore. I tried to put the "options"-line in /etc/modprobe.conf, as suggested on some forums, but this didn't help. I attached /root/scsconfig.log above (comment #5)
Please report that at ALSA project (www.alsa-project.com) and attach the logs there. We can't fix that only on Fedora, it has to be fixed at upstream level (and I can't reproduce it here). There's an updated driver package, how-to for that is here: http://people.redhat.com/stransky/alsa/
