Sometimes during normal usage of my laptop, the Mediatek Wi-Fi stops working: web pages stop loading, disabling Wi-Fi just hangs on a loading spinner. Then, the system starts slowing down: inputting a command in a terminal results in it hanging. Finally, I reboot the laptop, as it seems that no kernel panic is triggered and it just stays in this state: after about 2 minutes of usage, the laptop reboots on its own, leaving no logs of its reboot afterwards. What is the Version-Release number of the kernel: 6.17.5-300.fc43.x86_64 I've had this issue for as long as I've had Fedora on it: I am sure of it having happened on 6.16.x kernels. I cannot reproduce the issue. My kernel is untainted. I believe this bug might be related to this one on the SUSE bugzilla: https://bugzilla.suse.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1201845 , with LKML emails at https://lore.kernel.org/linux-wireless/VE1PR04MB64945C660A81D38F290E4A4BE59F9@VE1PR04MB6494.eurprd04.prod.outlook.com/T/#u . My laptop is a ASUS Zenbook UM3406KA. $ lspci | grep Net 62:00.0 Network controller: MEDIATEK Corp. MT7922 802.11ax PCI Express Wireless Network Adapter
Created attachment 2112027 [details] A log from the boot when the bug last happened. I have filtered the journalctl output to only include messages from the kernel and NetworkManager, as others seem unrelated.
Created attachment 2112028 [details] A log from the subsequent unwanted reboot. These are the last few lines from the journalctl of the subsequent boot, when the computer decided to reboot on its own. What's relevant here is the lack of any logs related to the reboot, as otherwise those lines from podman are related to something I was doing on my computer.

I have been able to reproduce the issue on a vanilla build of the 6.17.8 kernel: because of this I have reported it upstream with more details at the Kernel Bugzilla https://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=220353#c2 .
