Attempt at first build failed – the Makefile now tries to download some components from the internet. Proper investigation will need to happen.

Comment 3 Paul Murphy 2026-01-08 20:45:48 UTC
I stumbled upon the latest release while preparing for the Rust 1.93 release, noticing there was a newer version.

The latest wasi-libc is trying to download and link a prebuilt wasm compiler-rt. github.com/WebAssembly/wasi-libc/issues/591 has more details.

AFAICT, it seems like there were issues linking PIC binaries due to missing builtins. I am not sure why fedora hasn't run into that issue, maybe the newest version now requires it?
