Description Jan "Yenya" Kasprzak 2025-11-18 08:38:38 UTC
Description of problem:
Net::MQTT::Simple does not resubscribe the watched events after reconnect.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
perl-Net-MQTT-Simple-1.32-2.fc43.noarch

How reproducible:
100 %

Steps to Reproduce:
Run the following code against your MQTT server with some/topic, which occasionally sends events:
================
#!/usr/bin/perl -w

use v5.40;
use Net::MQTT::Simple;

my $mqtt = Net::MQTT::Simple->new('127.0.0.1');
$mqtt->subscribe('some/topic' => sub { say STDERR "got event"; });
while (1) {
	$mqtt->tick(90);
	say STDERR "mqtt tick";
}
================

Actual results:
Only first few events are received. After the connection times out and Net::MQTT::Simple reconnects, no further events are received.

Expected results:
All events for some/topic should be received indefinitely.

Additional info:
This is known issue, fixed in 1.33. Please package an updated upstream version.
