Universal Pathlib is a Python library that extends the pathlib_abc.JoinablePath

Note, this package was retired for more than 8 weeks, but the spec is re-generated with pyp2spec and unrelated to the old contents.

Note that I orphaned python-gcsfs[1] because “version 2025.12.0 introduces a dependency on google-cloud-storage-control, which depends on grpcio and proto-plus/protobuf. I don’t want to deal with that” because nobody has managed to update these packages in Fedora for several years, and as far as I know there has been no progress on it in Fedora 44[2] thus far.

I don’t really recommend unorphaning python-gcsfs and never updating it, although that choice is available to you. Consider making sure that this package is still viable in the long term if python-gcsfs is retired and python-fsspec must drop the “gcs” extra.
