On our new installed Fedora 43 system, the system log is filled with messages like this: ceph-crash[1553]: ERROR:ceph-crash:directory /var/lib/ceph/crash/posted does not exist; please create The ceph packages are installed, but the system doesn't currently use ceph. The ceph services are automatically running. When I check directory /var/lib/ceph/crash/posted for existence, it exist (I haven't created it). But the message is logged each 30 seconds in the system journal. # LANGF=C ll -dZ /var/lib/ceph/crash/posted drwxr-x---. 2 root root system_u:object_r:ceph_var_lib_t:s0 4096 16. Okt 02:00 /var/lib/ceph/crash/posted The wrong messages should be stopped. Reproducible: Always
I think this is broken permissions in the f43 version which I think are fixed in Rawhide. @kkeithle are we releasing Ceph 20 for f43, or should I fix this in the f43 branch for Ceph 19?
I/we will not be updating to ceph-20 (tentacle) in f43. Please fix for ceph-19 in the f43 branch.
