Created attachment 2121916 [details] Patch for enabling Blender features. Description of problem: Blender in EPEL 9 have disabled all features by default How reproducible: Open Blender from EPEL 9 and notice that most of critical features are disabled, like: - i18s suppport (selecting languages - simulations support - sound support - import format support - export images support - export to video support Steps to Reproduce: 1. Install Blender 2. Run Blender Actual results: - Language selection is not available, - fluid simulation is not available, - import from other formats are not available - sound is not working - etc. Expected results: - Language selection is available, - fluid simulation is available, - import from other formats are available - sound is working Additional info: Previously all features was disabled by default, by using blender_lite.cmake It was causing that many important features was disabled, like: - i18s suppport (selecting languages - simulations support - sound support - import format support - export images support - export to video support With attached patch many features will be enabled, if corresponding library will be found. It is the same behaviour like with Fedora Blender package. I have tested that with RHEL 9, by building and running simulations, changing interface languages, exporting to movie (with sound), exporting to Tiff, making fluid simulation and saving it in OpenVDB format.
Unfortunately I was unable to create PR with attached patch. Please do it for me.
Created attachment 2121917 [details] Screenshot from the last build logs, show disabled features Here is the screenshot from the last build logs (https://kojipkgs.fedoraproject.org//packages/blender/3.3.21/2.el9/data/logs/x86_64/build.log), which is showing that almost all features are disabled.
With release https://packages.fedoraproject.org/pkgs/blender/blender/epel-9.html the issue was fixed. It could be closed.
