I am trying to build fcitx5 on epel 10, and found this dependency is missing from the repo.

Sorry, I prefer fixing ibus to adding RHEL packages.
Since cldr-emoji-annotation has existed as a RHEL build package, you cannot add it in EPEL.

Perhaps you mean that cldr-emoji-annotation-devel subpackage is missing?

We could move it to CRB or AppStream probably.

Btw what happens if fcitx5 is built without cldr-emoji-annotation.pc ?

Perhaps answering my own question, it seems to build and still generate:

/usr/share/fcitx5/emoji/data/*.dict   (<= are these the correct generated files?)

without BR: pkgconfig(cldr-emoji-annotation)

e.g. https://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/taskinfo?taskID=146963083

This bug appears to have been reported against 'rawhide' during the Fedora Linux 45 development cycle.
Changing version to 45.
