Fedora 44 backgrounds are required for the Beta release, per https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Basic_Release_Criteria#Desktop_background and https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/QA:SOP_blocker_bug_process#Automatic_blockers this is an automatic Beta blocker. (Technically we just need anything that's not the F43 background for Beta, we need the real F44 backgrounds for Final).

Sorry I wasn't clear, the reason I commented was more the fact that you assigned this to me, even though I'm not the one that handles this. I took being the assignee as "You, go do this" :) I'm happy to help however I can, but I don't know the process the design team has for creating the new wallpapers. But since it was assigned to me, I wanted to make sure anyone else looking at it would see that someone is working on it. No worries on assigning it to me, I just wanted to make sure I'm not the issue blocking things. haha
Oh, I see. I didn't assign it to you specifically - you're just the default assignee because you're the owner of the package, I guess. You can re-assign it to Luya if he's going to be doing the updates. I did check he was CC'ed.

You didn't update fedora_release_name in the spec - https://src.fedoraproject.org/rpms/desktop-backgrounds/blob/rawhide/f/desktop-backgrounds.spec#_3 - so this doesn't actually switch to the f44 backgrounds at all (all its deps are still f43-backgrounds , not f44-backgrounds ).
