The sole dependent package is rust-zip. Let’s wait for https://github.com/zip-rs/zip2/pull/646 to shake out. Per https://github.com/hasenbanck/lzma-rust2/pull/88#issuecomment-3883216944, we’ll probably see a 0.16.1 release shortly.
It looks like neither of these should affect the Fedora package. According to the 0.16.0 release notes, it only relaxes the crc dep from =3.3 (which you already did locally) and the only "breaking" change is raising the MSRV / Rust Edition. Looking at diff.rs/lzma-rust2, this seems to be accurate (plus / minus some formatting changes).
Agreed. Per https://github.com/hasenbanck/lzma-rust2/pull/88, the version of crc needed to be "3.2" rather than just "3", which is what I expect to change in 0.16.1. That doesn’t matter for us since we have crc 3.4, but it does matter for zip upstream, and if they’re about to ship an update that uses lzma-rust2 0.16 then that will make it easier to just coordinate this with https://src.fedoraproject.org/rpms/rust-zip/pull-request/8, which is waiting on package reviews anyway.
