Created attachment 2130264 [details] Configuration file for rust2rpm Spec URL: https://music.fedorapeople.org/rust-av-decoders.spec SRPM URL: https://music.fedorapeople.org/rust-av-decoders-0.9.0-1.fc43.src.rpm Description: Decoders for use in the rust-av ecosystem. Fedora Account System Username: music See https://crates.io/crates/av-decoders. This is still useful (and a sufficient dependency for the latest rust-av-scenechange) even with only the default Y4M backend packaged. We could add the ffmpeg and vapoursynth features later if they are needed, and if someone packages the bindings they require.
This can now be trivially updated to 0.9.1, https://github.com/rust-av/av-decoders/compare/v0.9.0...v0.9.1. I’m happy to do this upon import, or at the time someone takes the package review.

An upstream release 0.10.0 exists, but 0.9.0 is still the correct version for the latest av-scenechange.
There’s a new av-scenechange, so I’ve updated this submission to 0.11.1. This requires rust-v_frame 0.7.0, which I just shipped, and which will take a day or so to reach a Rawhide compose. Package was generated with rust2rpm, simplifying the review. Divergence from a stock rust2rpm generated .spec file are documented and justified: Dropping unused / optional support for various C libraries that would only pull in additional then-unused dependencies is reasonable. ✅ package contains only permissible content ✅ package builds and installs without errors on rawhide ✅ test suite is run and all unit tests pass ✅ latest version of the crate is packaged ✅ license matches upstream specification and is acceptable for Fedora ✅ license file is included with %license in %files ✅ package complies with Rust Packaging Guidelines Package APPROVED. === Recommended post-import rust-sig tasks: - set up package on release-monitoring.org: project: $crate homepage: https://crates.io/crates/$crate backend: crates.io version scheme: semantic version filter (*NOT* pre-release filter): alpha;beta;rc;pre distro: Fedora Package: rust-$crate - set bugzilla assignee overrides to @rust-sig (optional)
Thank you for the review! I am excited to finally kick this one across the finish line. https://release-monitoring.org/project/390809/ I’m guessing we will end up needing the optional decoders (ffmpeg-the-third, ffms2-sys, vapoursynth) eventually for various things, but I’m in no hurry to package them just for fun.
