Most unusual factors likely to be: - needed to install to own created partitions on multiboot with windows present. - prepared partitions by creating during live environment as IDs fo EFI, linux, and linux x86_64 - formated with fat32 for EFI, EXt4 for linux, Btrfs for x86 In installer: - Assigned /boot/EFI, /boot and / respectively - marked all three for format - NB this would have resulted in 'two' EFI paritions, to be selected/switched-between later via UEFI/BIOS. This has worked for other distros. - installing to Surface Pro 8, but I doubt thats a factor. Then go
